This position plays a vital role in our operational activities. As an NDT (Non-destructive testing) technician, you will be responsible for evaluating the physical properties of materials without causing any damage. Your primary tasks will include inspecting and testing materials to identify corrosion, cracks, or other imperfections that may affect their performance or integrity. You may also utilize IRATA Rope access techniques as needed. The job sites can be onshore, offshore, and in the Middle East and North Africa region.


  • Report to the site supervisor/superintendent and ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of daily NDT inspection jobs for our clients.
  • Use rope access techniques, under the close supervision of a qualified IRATA level 3 professional, to access work areas at heights when required.
  • Perform NDT inspections using techniques such as Ultrasonics, Radiography, Magnetic Particle, Liquid/Dye Penetrant, and Eddy Current on a regular basis.
  • Conduct UT inspection techniques on components requiring inspection.
  • Ensure the work area is safe for carrying out NDT activities.
  • Perform risk assessments and Take II procedures as necessary.
  • Ensure inspections are carried out within the parameters of the applicable specifications.
  • Perform routine equipment/consumable function tests to ensure everything is in good working order and report any issues directly to supervision.
  • Evaluate test results in accordance with the applicable specifications.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports detailing the inspection methods, results, and any limitations or test restrictions.
  • Complete work in a timely and efficient manner to meet deadlines, adapting to changing priorities when required.
  • Adhere to Oceaneering operating procedures and comply with statutory/client specifications and requirements.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.
  • Follow the Company's Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems while carrying out work.
  • Assist with other duties and specific projects as instructed by management, as needed.


Preferred certifications: PCN or CSWIP. Third-party ASNT certificates will be considered.

Required certifications:

  • RT – Level 2 – Radiographic Testing (PCN/CSWIP/ASNT)
  • UT – Level 2 – Ultrasonic Testing (PCN/CSWIP/ASNT)
  • ET – Level 2 – Eddy Current Testing (PCN/CSWIP/ASNT)
  • MT – Level 2 – Magnetic Particle Testing (PCN/CSWIP/ASNT)
  • PT – Level 2 – Dye/Liquid Penetrant Testing (PCN/CSWIP/ASNT)
  • IRATA – Rope Access – Level 1 or 2
  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Offshore medical, annual eye test, BOSIET & MIST certification, Cat EBS, Bi-Deltoid Measurement (preferred).
  • Third-party ASNT certificate holders must undergo Oceaneering Certification, which is mandatory for this position.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant inspection techniques within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Windows-based programs preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
