Position Summary:

Are you an experienced Level 2 Eddy Current Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician who enjoys inspecting a variety of metallic parts from multiple industries? This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects where no two days are the same. Additionally, you will have the chance to gain certification in other NDT methods such as MT, PT, UT, and ACFM.

At our client's Dudley facility, NDT personnel are highly trained and experienced, holding certifications from Levels 1 to 3 across recognized examination schemes, including SNT-TC-1-A (ASNT), ISO 9712 PCN, BS EN 4179, and NAS 410. They test a wide range of items including castings, forgings, welds, plate, bar, and composites, servicing all industrial sectors including aerospace, oil & gas, defense, power generation, automotive, nuclear, rail, petrochemical, medical, and general engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct NDT tests and processes in the laboratory and on-site environments, evaluating results and reporting in accordance with written procedures.
  • Create written procedures for conducting Eddy Current Testing in accordance with national and international standards for testing castings, welds, and wrought products.
  • Generate part-specific data cards in line with written procedures.
  • Perform calibration and control checks of equipment.
  • Complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to the methods for which qualified.

Requirements:

  • NDT Level 2 certification in Eddy Current Testing (ECT).
  • Ability to work on well-defined issues and conduct standard and routine tests with minimal supervision.
  • Takes initiative and typically does not require additional instructions.
  • Ability to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols.
  • Ability to lead and assign tasks to others as needed.
  • Skilled at managing job priorities and work time in line with targets and goals set by the supervisor.
  • Recognized by colleagues as having strong technical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a variety of testing techniques to examine issues and build solutions.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and effective personal time management.
  • Strong teamwork philosophy.

Desirable Skills:

Certification in other NDT methods such as MT, PT, UT, and ACFM is desirable.
