CORROSION UNDER INSULATION INSPECTION TIPS

CUI has been heralded as resulting in 60 to 80% of pipe maintenance costs.[1] The losses do not only apply to facilities near the coast – yes, landlubbers, we also experience CUI in the prairies. This webinar highlights CUI tips for inspection personnel: operating and insulation parameters that impact CUI, important references, and information obtained from inspection techniques. This presentation is part of our IRISNDT webinars, where we are sharing our inspection insights with the inspection and mechanical integrity community.

Presenter summary:

Ana Benz, the IRISNDT Chief Engineer, has worked for IRISNDT for 23 years as a Corrosion, Failure, and Inspection Specialist. She performs and promotes inspection technologies. Ana graduated as a Materials Engineer at the University Simon Bolivar in Venezuela. She then obtained a master’s degree in Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia many years ago. Ana is a proud International Pressure Equipment Integrity Association Sponsorship Committee member.
